The 16×231 needle is part of the DBx1 (also called 1738A, 287 WH, 16×95, 16×257) industrial needle system, which is a single‑needle lock‑stitch design. It is generally used in single‑needle industrial sewing machines that require a ball‑point or sharp‑point needle with a specific shank and point shape. These needles are NOT compatible with modern machines, as they require a flat shank design to fit the needle clamp.
